Crowdfunding can be explained as the practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people.  It’s a term typically used to describe business funding ventures, but can be applied to just about any fundraising purpose, charity or otherwise.

We use it here to describe the most common fundraising techniques used online – publishing a campaign page and asking people for donations, and offering thank-you gifts for certain donation levels.

You might run this type of campaign to help a family in your community that’s going through a hardship of some kind.

  1. You’ll start by following the interview process in our Campaign Setup section (selecting “New Campaign” from the Account menu at the top of your screen will get you there), and sharing your fundraiser on social media.
  2. Supporters will visit your Campaign Page to make donations and leave messages of encouragement.
  3. When your campaign ends, you’ll request the funds and deliver them to your beneficiary.
